Monitoring checks benefit and harm
Follow-up is used to review whether symptoms are improving, whether exposure is appropriate for the formulation and whether adverse effects are developing. The timing of a testosterone sample must be interpreted in relation to the exact product and administration schedule.
Blood count matters
Testosterone can increase haemoglobin and haematocrit. A rising haematocrit may require reassessment because overly concentrated blood can increase risk. Decisions about thresholds and treatment changes belong to the clinician.
Other review areas
Blood pressure, prostate-related assessment where appropriate, sleep-apnoea symptoms, acne, mood, fluid retention, breast symptoms and cardiovascular health may be reviewed. Monitoring is individual rather than a universal app checklist.
